Talkeetna Lake Hike

| Lynnette and I drove up to Talkeetna to meet Lucy, Don and the boys who were already there, to do a guided hike around one of the lakes in Talkeetna Lakes Park. It was in the late afternoon/early evening on a gorgeous day. |

The water was as still as it gets.

| Our guide was at left -- he was an expert on all the trees, plants and wildlife in the area. |

The guide told us what type of plant with the red berries was but I promptly forgot. I can identify most airplanes, but plants and trees, forgetaboutit!

| To land a seaplane on this lake, you'd have to do a glassy water landing for sure. That said, seaplane landings are not allowed on lakes in the Talkeetna Lake Park. |

Lucy, Don and the boys were staying in the Talkeetna Alaska Lodge. This is the back of the lodge.

| From the lodge, you can see Denali in the distance. We were lucky to see it so well. They say Denali is only visible 30% of the time. |
